GRAME database (GRAMED) Help
It is the aim of this section to provide pointers to help you navigate this site. Should you wish to get in touch with us, then you can do so using the online feedback form.
Online Feedback Form
The feedback form enables you the user to
- Register a request for a log in code, this enables online entry of additional activities by the user
- Suggest an activity that should be included
- Ask a question/clarification
- Report an error or problem with the site
Searching the database
Simple vs. Advanced search Basic search criteria are provided in the default search form - which allows the user to browse the dataset geographically, by types of activities or by using key words (Title (keyword) looks for the keyword just in the title of the activity and Broad (Keyword) looks through all the relevant free text fields). The advanced search can be revealed by clicking on the hot link on the search page. This allows the user to build more complex queries.
To view ALL assessments, Select All Regions in the Region drop down select box below.
Submit search - you will see that there is no submit button! As you start selecting search criteria, the results will automatically show at the bottom of the page.
Downloading search results
To export the returned results, click on the 'Export Results to Excel' link above the results. This will send the data for the 15 Summary information fields to an excel spreadsheet which can be saved to your computer, and used for searching, sorting and further analysis. Should you need a download of other fields, please contact us using the online feedback form.
The full Individual assessments can be exported to PDF after clicking on the title in the results.
GRAMED Summary Statistics
These pages provide an overview of the information contained in the database, they are dynamically linked to the dataset, so will change each time a new activity is added.

Limitations of the Survey:
Users should be aware of the limitations of this tool, particularly the complexity of the assessment processes is in many cases difficult to represent using the thematic categories employed here. Similarly, to aid functionality, information relating to geographic coverage has been simplified. For these reasons the information contained within this database provides a simplified overview of the main features and components of the assessments, and it is recommended that this tool be used as a reference to locate relevant assessments and sources of further information.
The coverage of assessments and related activities is not exhaustive. The focus has been on activities and related scientific activities (that is research projects, monitoring projects and data holdings) at the national, regional and global scale which could provide particular lessons or information on assessment processes or products as a contribution to the Assessment of Assessments . The database will continue to grow overtime, and has facilities for online user contributions through the online feedback form, or directly by authorized users.
The categorization of information gathered has a degree of subjectivity. Value judgments were unavoidably included in several fields of the database, including the classification of activities as assessment or other types, the role of experts and thematic focus of the activity. There are also limitations regarding the geographic coverage component field within the database. Efforts were made to minimize subjectivity of the researchers by ensuring regular communication and development of standard definitions (e.g. the 21 defined regions).
