The primary
aim of the project was to provide the tools and training that will
enable CBD National Focal Points in each country: Participatory
training was provided for local staff from the seven countries
in the use of a standard methodology for the assessment of implementation
of the Convention. The project
was coordinated by the UNEP-WCMC, working in close collaboration
with the Central American Commission for Environment and Development
(CCAD) and the IUCN Regional Office for Central America (ORMA).
Project
documents The following
project documents, based on previous projects, provided the basis methodology.

used by the seven countries for the Central America project. Cómo

been subsequently tested in six countries in the Pan-European region.
Experience

Kingdom Experience
gained in carrying out the assessments of CBD implementation in
Central and Eastern Europe and the Newly Independent States. All working
papers for these projects can be found through the following links: Several
assessments have now been completed and draft assessment documents are
available for review. Any further comment would be welcomed, although
this will be reviewed with the project teams before incorporation. Links
to other processes The relationship
between this project and the national reporting process is close, and
is described on the UNEP-WCMC webpage on CBD
- Assessing implementation. |
