Chris McOwen

Chris is a post-doctoral fellow with the NEREUS project, a large, multidisciplinary research group aimed at “predicting the future of the ocean”- addressing global issues of food security, climate change and protected areas. Specifically, his research aims to improve the understanding of how natural processes and human activities influence the structure, function and dynamics of marine ecosystems. This is achieved by integrating ecological, economic, social, and governance factors into empirical and theoretical models to disentangle the complex web of factors driving the temporal and spatial variability in commercial catch and biodiversity.
