King Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation (KMTNC)

KMTNC was established in 1982 as an NGO whose mission is to promote, manage and conserve nature in all its diversity in Nepal. The Trust places great emphasis on promoting a balance between human needs and the environment to guarantee long-term sustainability. Its projects always seek to maximise community participation, in which local people are recognized both as principal actors and beneficiaries. The Trust’s activities cover the tropical plains of Bardia and Chitwan in the lowlands to the Annapurna and Manaslu regions of the high Himalayas, including the Trans Himalayan regions of Upper Mustang and Manang.
