EU Wildlife Trade Regulations

UNEP-WCMC provides a wide range of services to the European Commission in support of the effective implementation of the EU Wildlife Trade Regulations, the legislation that provides for the enforcement of CITES within the European Union.

These services include:http://www.unep-wcmc.org/contented/plugins/fckeditor/plugins/saveandclose/save.gif

  • Managing the EU Wildlife Trade Regulation database, containing information on all the species listed in Annexes A-D of the regulation;
  • Development of an E-library providing electronic access to CITES and EU documents;
  • Preparation of reports for each meeting of the EC Scientific Review Group as well as the European Community's annual report to CITES;
  • Development of EPIX, a mechanism to enable CITES Management Authorities to exchange permit data electronically.
