World Atlas of Coral Reefs
Together with partners around the world UNEP-WCMC has compiled data on a broad range of coral reef related topics. These have been synthesised for the very first time in the World Atlas of Coral Reefs, presenting a unique global base-line - it is the most definitive and comprehensive overview of the world's coral reefs produced to date and contains new and invaluable information and statistics.
THE LAUNCH

This will give the media a unique and highly visual photo and film opportunity of live corals. Mark Spalding (lead author of the World Atlas of Coral Reefs) and Mariella Frostrup (broadcaster and journalist) will also be diving in the Atlantic Pool and swimming with Thornback Rays, Conger Eels, and Dogfish.

To highlight the importance of the launch of this unique publication, the FCO have offered UNEP-WCMC the use of some of its most spectacular rooms within their historic building at King Charles Street, Whitehall, London.
Speakers will include Klaus Toepfer (Executive Director of UNEP), Mark Spalding and Mariella Frostrup.
