The World Atlas of Seagrasses is the first book to summarize the global status of seagrass, which has been made possible through the collaboration of the world’s leading experts. Seagrasses are a vital but frequently overlooked ecosystem. They are the primary food of animals such as manatees, dugongs, green sea turtles, and critical habitat for thousands of other animal and plant species, seagrasses also play an important role in fishery production, thus contributing substantially to human livelihood and well-being.
