Pablo’s work focuses on strengthening the links between species conservation science and policy through capacity building, data management and the provision of scientific and technical advice, particularly on issues relating to the sustainable use of species in international trade. Before joining UNEP-WCMC in 2006, Pablo snow-tracked wolves in the Carpathian mountains of Poland, studied the ecology of herbivore grazing in Scotland and cloned bacteria in the labs of the Humboldt University of Berlin. Pablo holds an MSc in Conservation and a BSc in Biology following studies in the UK, Spain and Finland. Away from work he enjoys cycling around Cambridge and exploring wilder corners of the world.
