Presspacks 2004 - 2005

The World Atlas of Great Apes and their Conservation World Atlas of Great Apes and their Conservation (posted 1 September 2005)

Thanks to the cooperation of GRASP partners, IUCN Primate Specialist Group members, primate researchers, and many others, the World Atlas of Great Apes and their Conservation is complete.

The book has been launched at the Zoological Society of London today, with the book being released worldwide as part of the University of California Press autumn season.Press pack

UNEP-WCMC/IHS Energy Agreement (posted 9 June 2005)

The United Nations Environment Programme-World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) and IHS Energy today launched a landmark agreement that will advance the oil and gas industry’s efforts to protect the world’s biodiversity.

This new product will deliver a biodiversity information module to decision makers in the oil and gas sector. Early access to this information will enable companies to address potential impacts on wildlife and their habitats before any operations begin.

Snorkellers and scuba divers across the globe are being enlisted to help save the world's oceans and seas.

Using UNEP-WCMC's interactive map service (IMapS), earthdive is allowing divers to identify locations of scientific interest and record their observations, bringing their diving experiences to the attention of other divers and the scientific community.Press pack
