WHIN Information Sources

The World Heritage Information Network is a partnership between the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, the Advisory Bodies (ICOMOS, IUCN, and ICCROM), States Parties, and those responsible for managing World Heritage sites. The WHIN Search Engine searches identified parts of all web sites identified by the WHIN Managers and their collaborators in a systematic manner. The information gatherer searches these once a week.

There are two categories of web sites searched, those of WHIN Partners, and those of other websites which include information on World Heritage. The search engine can be set so that it searches branches on a web site (one page and all other subsidiary pages), or specific pages (leaf nodes). Occasionally the gatherer can fail to access a web site while it is carrying out the indexing process.

Adding new information sources

If you are aware of other web sites that are relevant but not being searched, please send information on these sites to the WHIN Managers for review and incorporation into future searches. Please use the form below, or send an e-mail message to whin@unesco.org.
