World Heritage Thematic Study for Central Asia: A Regional Overview

UNEP-WCMC and IUCN are currently collaborating on a World Heritage assessment of Central Asia. The five Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, are all Parties to the World Heritage Convention. However, there are currently no WH Sites inscribed for their natural values in the region.

The complete study will be made available at a later date when it has been finalised. Following are maps of the region and the individual countries that have been prepared for the review:
