Physical Features Hilly island, cliff fringed with peaks rising to 353m. Together with Pulau Gaya and Tetagan, it forms a semi-circular group marking the northern rim of a large volcanic crater which is now greatly degraded. The cliffs consist of hypersthene-andesite breccia. The coarse breccia suggests violent explosive eruptions. The eastern shore is rocky and in southernmost part of this area, an inner zone of rubble is lightly coated with coral sand and there is some cementation.

Vegetation Rainforest forms a fairly dense cover which reaches down to the shoreline. Mangrove develops patchily along the outer shores of the island, the mangrove belt being only 10-20m wide.

Fauna Coral reef with soft corals (Corallimorpharia) and stony corals (Scleractinia) e.g. Acrophora formosa, Montipora foliosa and A. formosa. Also crown-of-thorns starfish Acanthaster plana. No information on birds.
