Protected Areas Management Effectiveness Database

Several assessments have been undertaken both at site and system levels by many individuals and or organisations working on protected areas management. The Protected Areas Management Effectiveness Database database brings together all the available data on the different methodologies and its applications around the world.

Through this database you can query management effectiveness data by country, by tool, assessment and protected area. The methodologies and summary reports can also be downloaded when available.

In order to provide the users with further information on the Protected Area assessed, the Protected Areas Management Effectiveness Database has been linked to World Database of Protected Areas (WDPA), which is the most comprehensive global database on protected areas, managed by UNEP-World Conservation Monitoring Centre on behalf of the United Nations and the World Conservation Union (IUCN-World Commission on Protected Areas).
