Annelisa is responsible for UNEP-WCMC's strategy for engagement with the private sector and its influencers. This aims to bring high quality biodiversity data and information into the heart of private sector decision-making, and in doing so aims to enable more, and more effective, conservation of biodiversity worldwide.
Annelisa has more than 20 years’ experience advising companies and civil society on the business risks and opportunities associated with biodiversity and ecosystem services and approaches to managing them. She was previously the Director of Corporate Affairs, and Director of Environmental Markets with Fauna & Flora International before spending six years as an independent environmental consultant. She has been involved in the development of tools and methodologies for evaluating corporate biodiversity performance and management systems for the following sectors: extractive, food and drink, tobacco, retail, finance and pharmaceutical.
Since joining UNEP-WCMC in 2015, Annelisa has developed a new portfolio of work on corporate biodiversity indicators, natural capital, pollination and nature based solutions and extended the private sector programme into new sectors such as finance, policy and agribusiness.
