Annelisa will collaborate with UNEP-WCMC to help it shape and deliver its strategy for engagement with the private sector and its influencers. This aims to bring high-quality biodiversity knowledge into the heart of private sector decision-making, and in doing so enable more, and more effective, conservation and restoration of biodiversity worldwide.
In particular, we will work together to align biodiversity measures for business and to build understanding and capacity within the finance sector to understand and act on the decline of nature.
Annelisa has more than 20 years of experience advising companies and civil society on the business risks and opportunities associated with the loss of nature. She started her career as a sustainability consultant and accountant with accounting firm KPMG, later working in leadership roles within environmental groups Fauna & Flora International and the United Nations Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC).
Annelisa leads consultancy, Globalbalance, specialising in corporate biodiversity indicators and disclosure and the integration of biodiversity into business strategy and financial decision making. She is an advisor to Aviva on biodiversity and has an M.Phil. in Environment and Development and a B.A. in Zoology from Cambridge University.
