Becky Price

Programme Officer | Species

Becky’s role in the Species Programme supports its work on species-related multilateral environmental agreement, including the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), the Convention on Migratory Species, and EU Wildlife Trade Regulations. Her work includes processing data; providing datasets in response to information requests; and contributing to trade analyses and species reviews.

Previous experience & expertise

Before joining WCMC as a member of staff, Becky volunteered with the Species Programme, working to produce two global trade analysis reports for the 40th Anniversary Conference of the Parties to CITES. Becky has also worked as a field assistant for the Edward Grey Institute, Oxford, where she collected phenological data on native trees and caterpillars to support its flagship long-term bird population studies. Becky has a BA in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford and has assisted on field projects in the UK and Mexico.

EU Wildlife Trade Support | Project Assistant

Becky supports the programme’s work on EU Wildlife Trade by producing text and graphs for trade reports; updating information in the Species+ database; and writing trade analyses for species reviews.

CITES Support | Project Assistant

Becky’s work includes processing and uploading CITES annual report data to the CITES Trade Database; making trade data available in response to queries; and other tasks relating to CITES trade data.

Central America Capacity Building | Project Assistant

Becky’s role in this project included analyzing trade data and producing content for a regional wildlife trade review, as well as contributing to the production of a website to present the key findings of the review.
