Emma’s work within the Species Programme focusses on supporting the implementation of species-related Conventions and Agreements, such as the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and the EU Wildlife Trade Regulations. This includes undertaking analyses and assessments of species subject to international trade.
Emma has recently graduated from the University of Edinburgh, with a BSc (Hons) in Ecological and Environmental Science. Her research there focussed on the group feeding behaviours of humpback whales in the north-west Atlantic. Prior to starting at UNEP-WCMC, she has worked as a marine research assistant and an ecological surveyor, and was an intern in the Science team at BirdLife International.
