Federica brings to UNEP-WCMC her passion for sustainable development and experience in multilateral policy-making and result-oriented project management. As part of the UN Junior Professional Officers Programme, she contributes to UN Environment’s mission of mainstreaming biodiversity into national and international decision-making in the global effort to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals.
Federica supports UNEP-WCMC strategic priority to identify and promote indicators for use by national governments and global processes, which clearly show how biodiversity and natural capital underpin many cross-cutting social and economic goals especially those on ending poverty, ensuring healthy lives, and reducing inequality.
Federica has extensive experience working with national and international organisations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Before joining the UN, she worked for the European Commission and the Italian Development Agency on climate action and sustainable development in the Mediterranean region.
She holds a BA in Middle Eastern Studies from SciencesPo Paris, a double master’s degree in Political Science and European Affairs from SciencesPo and the Free University of Berlin and a MA in International Relations and Diplomacy from the College of Europe in Bruges. In 2017, she was featured in Forbes 30Under30 Europe list for Law & Policy.
