Gen is the Project Accountant across all the projects at WCMC. She works in conjunction with project leads and programme administrators to assist with planning, budgeting and expenditure reports. Her remit also includes management accounts and financial reporting where she works closely with the finance manager to meet the required deadlines. Monitoring the Centre’s sales ledger is another key component of her day-to-day responsibilities as well as communicating the outcomes to those involved.
Gen began her career in publishing following an undergraduate degree and masters in English literature. She worked for Penguin in production/purchasing, going on to The Guardian and then into other publishing companies. In each role she balanced finance and editorial elements, eventually running her own literary agency in London. In 2011 she moved into accountancy (including studying the AAT), preparing accounts for those in the performing arts. Relocating to Suffolk in 2019, she is now combining her environmental interests with her accountancy skillset.
