As an Associate Programme Officer with the business and biodiversity programme, Jake provides technical support to a range of projects, working to strengthen the role of the private sector in meeting global biodiversity targets. A key part of his role is in making biodiversity evidence relevant to different users, to increase its uptake in decision making.
Jake’s experience lies in the development of biodiversity indicators and assessments for marine ecosystems. He completed a PhD followed by a Post-doc at the University of Plymouth, in partnership with the Continuous Plankton Recorder Survey, where he worked on the assessment of pelagic habitats to support European marine policy implementation. Jake graduated with a MBiolSci degree in Biology with Conservation and Biodiversity from the University of Sheffield, and he has experience in wildlife surveying for an ecological consultancy.
