As a Programme Officer, Julieta works developing, planning, and implementing effective work plans on Nature-Based Solutions for mitigation and adaptation to climate change. She also contributes outlining expert input, evaluating policy options, and analysing data to produce written publications and reports on climate change and biodiversity. Julieta works internationally to collaborate with government staff and other stakeholders and represents UNEP-WCMC to external audiences and partners.
Julieta comes from an interdisciplinary background with a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) and a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Policy, and Management at the University of Manchester. Since 2016, Julieta has been involved in climate change management in South America and Europe. She has participated in numerous projects across the sustainability spectrum throughout her career – working with governments, the private sector, and indigenous communities. She has also been involved in research projects on climate finance for adaptation, water scarcity and agribusiness, and urbanization impacts on aquatic ecosystem services.
