Nigel Dudley contributes in particular with the protected areas programme on issues related to Protected Planet, definitions of protected areas and OECMs. He will also collaborates with WCMC’s work on ecosystem services, integrating it more closely with ongoing work with the World Commission on Protected Areas
Nigel Dudley works as a consultant ecologist and writer for government, intergovernmental, non-governmental and commercial clients. His work includes planning and implementing field projects; both desk-based and field research, and carrying out policy advocacy at the national and international level. He has worked with over 70 clients in around 90 countries. He is active in the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas and is also a member of the Commission on Environmental, Economic and Social Policy and Commission on Ecosystem Management. He has been a senior conservation advisor to WWF International and an adjunct fellow at the University of Queensland.
