Vignesh’s role involves supporting various technical projects across the Centre. His work includes spatial analyses of biodiversity metrics, remote sensed data, technical analysis of indicators/indicator databases, and managing and control of scientific data.
Vignesh completed an MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management from the University of Oxford. For his dissertation research, he focused on transboundary conservation where he studied the distribution, connectivity and habitat loss in Protected Areas in Asia. Vignesh has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering. He previously worked as a Research Fellow at Gubbi Labs, an Indian research organisation, on various research and conservation projects on ecology, long-term biodiversity monitoring and forest regeneration in the Western Ghats in India.
