UNEP-WCMC launches alumni network

UNEP-WCMC today announced the launch of a global alumni network, helping former employees to stay connected with the people and ideas shaping conservation today.

The launch of the alumni network forms part of the Centre’s wider 40th anniversary celebrations. Nearly 1000 people have worked at the Centre in its four-decade history, as staff, students and interns, all of whom have played a role in the Centre’s success and impact over the past forty years.

Jonny Hughes, CEO of WCMC, said: “We are absolutely delighted to launch the alumni network today. Our people are our greatest strength, and with this network we will be able harness all those decades of expertise and dedication – coalescing a team of advocates for biodiversity all over the world, across governments, charities, and the private sector.

“The recent Global Assessment Report from IPBES shows that there is still time to reverse the decline of the natural world. Together, we can make that time count.”
